FAQs

Will I have the same carer every visit?

1

We know that inviting someone into your home is personal, which is why we aim to provide the same regular carer whenever possible. Building a trusting relationship is just as important as the care itself, and consistency is something we genuinely value.

There may be times when your regular carer is on annual leave or unwell. If this happens, we'll do our best to arrange another familiar member of the Velora Care team. If a new carer is required, we'll organise an in-home handover wherever possible, allowing your regular carer to introduce them, discuss your routine and ensure a smooth, comfortable transition.

Can I have the same days and times each week?

2

Absolutely. We understand that routine is important, particularly for older people living with dementia or those who simply like to plan their week. We'll work with you to establish a regular schedule that suits your lifestyle, and we'll do our best to keep it consistent.

What if I don't feel like going shopping?

3

That's completely okay.

Some days you might feel like getting out and about, and other days you'd rather stay home. Your care is there to support you, not to follow a rigid schedule.

If you've planned a shopping trip but decide you'd rather stay home, your carer can often use that time to help with something else, such as preparing a meal, tidying up, hanging out the washing, enjoying a cup of tea and a chat, or assisting with other tasks around the home. We'll always work with you to make the most of your visit.

Do I have to become a client if I contact you?

4

Absolutely not.

Sometimes people simply need advice, want to understand how My Aged Care works or aren't sure what support is available. Whether you need care now, in a few months or you're just looking for some guidance, we're always happy to have a conversation.

If we can help, we'll tell you how. If we can't, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.
