Free aged care advocacy & guidance SERVICES IN Perth METRO

Reach Out to Our Friendly Team

Aged care can be difficult to navigate, especially if you’ve never had to deal with it before. Many people contact us because they’re confused about what support is available, how assessments work, or what they should be doing next. This is very common — and it’s not always explained clearly.

We offer free aged care advocacy and guidance to help people understand the system, their options, and the next steps. This support is available to older people themselves, as well as family members and carers who are trying to help someone else.

Our advocacy is nurse-led, practical, and offered with no obligation.

What we mean by “free advocacy”

Advocacy is about helping you make sense of aged care and understand what support may be available to you.

Our free advocacy and guidance can include:

  • Talking through your current situation and concerns
  • Explaining eligibility for aged care services
  • Guidance on ACAT assessments and what to expect
  • Help understanding Home Care Packages and the Support at Home program
  • Clarifying what supports may be appropriate now, and what may be needed in the future
  • Answering common questions about wait times, funding, and how the system works

Often people just want reassurance that they’re on the right track, or clarity about what questions to ask. Sometimes one conversation can make a big difference.

Who this support is for

Our aged care advocacy may be helpful if you are:

  • An older person unsure what help you can access
  • An adult child supporting a parent
  • A carer feeling overwhelmed or unsure what to do next
  • Waiting for an ACAT assessment or funding decision
  • Trying to understand whether Home Care Packages or Support at Home is the right option

You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out. Many people contact us early to better understand their options.

Why Velora Care offers this support

Velora Care is a nurse-led service working within the aged care system every day. We see firsthand how confusing, slow, and frustrating the process can be — even when people are doing everything they’re told to do.

We offer free advocacy because too many people miss out on support simply due to lack of clear information or guidance. Our aim is to help people feel more confident and supported as they navigate aged care.

Some people choose to continue working with us through ongoing case management and nursing support, which is offered separately and charged as a percentage in line with program requirements. Others simply use the free advocacy and move forward on their own. Both are completely okay.
